(1) The most widely used orifice plate flowmeter has a sturdy structure, stable and reliable performance, and long service life;
(2) There is a wide range of applications, and so far there is no type of flowmeter that can be compared to it;
(3) The detection components, transmitters, and display instruments are produced by different manufacturers, which facilitates economies of scale production.
(1) The measurement accuracy is generally low;
(2) The range is narrow, usually only 3:1 to 4:1;
(3) High requirements for on-site installation conditions;
(4) High pressure loss (referring to orifice plates, nozzles, etc.).
Note: A new product: a balanced flow meter developed by NASA, which has a measurement accuracy 5-10 times that of traditional throttling devices and a permanent pressure loss of 1/3. The pressure recovery is twice faster, and the minimum straight pipe section can be as small as 1.5D. It is easy to install and use, greatly reducing the consumption of fluid operation capacity.
